About our Conch 27
Nearly 30 years ago the legendary Conch 27 was conceived by Key West professional fishing guides and designed by a renowned naval architect to be the ultimate “no frills” fishing platform. Performance, stability, overbuilt construction, ample storage, and large live-wells and fish-boxes were the focal points in the design. This resulted in an extremely strong, efficient, stable, dry, and spacious fishing platform. These attributes are what made Conch truly legendary. A traditional curved and crowned full transom, broken shear line, tumblehome aft hull sides, and sharp entry created the classic looks. In 2005 R & R Boatworks, a previous 27 customer, bought the company from Eddy & Duff, designed and introduced the Conch 33, a larger exact version of the Conch 27. We still build the boats as they were originally built, but with some significant improvements to fit & finish work, hatch & gutter design, console design; and began using higher tech materials and construction methods. We have also incorporated more comfort and family feature and options.
Being completely custom, no boat is the same. We utilize more customer feedback than any other company on the market to truly build your boat unique to your preferences. Extreme amounts of detail go into each boat. Therefore, we only build a very limited number of boats a year. This improves quality control and greatly effects the resale value by limiting the number of boats in the market.
Captain Robbie Radlof
Capt Robbie has spent his entire life fishing the Raritan bay and its tributaries for striped bass with his father and grandfather. In 1999 he bought his first center console and broke away from the standard techniques by strictly targeting bass with top water lures on light tackle. Over the past 18 years of running his own boats he has honed his skills and developed patterns that allow him to catch bass from April to December strictly on artificial baits. In 2004 Rob obtained his United States Coast Guard License while working at the Tackle Box in Hazlet, NJ. Rob is also an avid surf fisherman wondering the beaches under the cover of darkness. He has surf fished from Local New Jersey waters up the coast to places such as Montauk, Newport, Block Island, Cuttyhunk and Cape Cod beaches. He is one of 5 IGFA record holders of a north east super grand slam. A super grand slam consists of a striped bass, bluefish, false albacore and a weakfish all on artificial baits in one outing. In 2008 he was named to the St. Croix Rods Pro staff, assisting on field testing and new rod development for the Legend and Mojo surf rod lines. His extensive knowledge of local waters will ensure that you are presented with the best opportunities available.
About our Rambo 27
Capt Robbie’s custom 27ft Rambo was hand built in Georgia by boat builder Lou Rambo . With a level 360 degree cockpit floor there are no worries about tripping on steps or storage boxes. It boasts a three piece construction hull which allows for constant stabilization against thigh high gunnels throughout. The narrow width of the gunnels allows the angler freedom to work a artificial bait in the correct manor without worrying about cracking the side of the boat with the rod or reel. Its custom T top is small and compact so it does not interfere with casting of longer plug rods. This stable open layout center console is a plug fisherman’s dream.
